Systems Neuroscience Researcher
Bhuvaneshwar Yarlagadda
Systems neuroscience researcher studying how protein-quality-control systems fail in neurodegenerative disorders, and mentoring GloNeuro students.
Bhuvaneshwar Yarlagadda is a systems neuroscience researcher at GloNeuro. He studies how the cell’s protein-quality-control systems, known as proteostasis, are disrupted in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders, combining network biology, multi-omics data and statistical modelling.
His computational studies at GloNeuro map the proteostasis pathways shared across neurodegenerative disorders and test whether proposed disease subtypes are robust.
Alongside his research, he takes part in GloNeuro’s outreach programmes and mentors students, supervising their summer projects across a range of topics in neuroscience. He aims to train GloNeuro scholars to carry out rigorous research on fundamental, advanced and translational questions in neuroscience and to evaluate published studies and their methods critically.
He trained in neuroscience at Amity University and the University of Glasgow, and contributes to GloNeuro’s online resources, including the 3D Brain Atlas and the Experiment Design Studio.
