Discovery and Basic Neurosciences
Studies of how brain cells and circuits work and how they change with age and disease.
GloNeuro is a neuroscience research and outreach organisation. Its researchers study how the brain works, how it ages and how it is affected by disease.
GloNeuro publications have co-authors at 73 institutions in 17 countries. Each point on the map marks a city in which co-authors are based. Selecting a point lists the institutions and the joint papers.
GloNeuro links brain research with public understanding, so that discoveries about the brain reach the people they concern.
GloNeuro researchers study Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, sleep, ageing and the links between diet, metabolism and the brain. They publish in international journals and collaborate with researchers in India and abroad.
The organisation also runs brain-awareness programmes for school and college students and provides free online resources, including the 3D Brain Atlas and the Experiment Design Studio.
Studies of how brain cells and circuits work and how they change with age and disease.
Development of methods for studying and treating the brain, including nanomedicine and computational approaches.
Research on memory, sleep, cognition and mental health, and the translation of findings into approaches to diagnosis and treatment.
Research themes of GloNeuro publications
GloNeuro publications are papers that carry a GloNeuro affiliation and papers by current members of the GloNeuro team. Each title links to the published article. The abstracts are searchable in the literature search.
Director
Neuroscientist and biochemist leading the Discovery and Basic Neurosciences division. Her work spans neurodegeneration, neurodevelopment and the metabolic influences on brain function, with an emphasis on translational neuroscience.
Scientific Advisor · Associate Professor, Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences, Pune
Neuroscientist with more than two decades of research and teaching experience. His work centres on the neurobiology of ageing and obesity, sleep, nutritional neuroscience, neuropsychiatric disorders and neuropharmacology.
Systems Neuroscience Researcher
Studies how protein-quality-control systems fail in neurodegenerative disorders using computational methods, and mentors students through GloNeuro’s outreach and summer research projects.
