Privacy policy
This Policy sets out the information processed when the GloNeuro website is used, the purposes for which it is processed, and the third-party services on which the Website relies.
Summary
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is handled when the GloNeuro website (the “Website”) is accessed or used. It applies to the Website only and does not apply to third-party websites to which the Website links.
2. Responsible organisation
The Website is operated by GloNeuro (“GloNeuro”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Enquiries concerning this Policy, and requests relating to personal information held by GloNeuro, should be addressed to info@gloneuro.org.
3. Information collected during visits
The Website does not require users to provide personal information, does not set cookies, and does not employ analytics, advertising or social-media tracking technologies.
In common with all websites, a user’s browser transmits certain technical information, including the IP address, browser type and the page requested, to the server on which the Website is hosted. This information may be recorded by GloNeuro’s hosting provider in standard server logs, which are used to maintain the security and proper operation of the Website.
4. Third-party services
The Website relies on the following third-party services, which receive information directly from the user’s browser and process it in accordance with their own policies:
- Google Fonts. The typefaces used on the Website are delivered from servers operated by Google, which therefore receive a request from the user’s browser, including the IP address. Further information is available in Google Fonts and privacy and the Google Privacy Policy.
- PubMed. Search terms entered in the PubMed search on the Literature Search page are transmitted from the user’s browser to the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) of the US National Library of Medicine, together with the name and contact address of the Website, as NCBI requests. Where a browser is unable to reach NCBI directly, the request is relayed through GloNeuro’s server. Further information is available in the NLM Web Policies. Searches of GloNeuro publications are performed entirely within the user’s browser and are not transmitted.
5. Information stored on the user’s device
The Experiment Design Studio retains the plan in progress in the local storage of the user’s browser so that it remains available on a subsequent visit. This information is not transmitted to GloNeuro or to any other party. It may be deleted at any time by selecting Reset answers within the Studio or by clearing the browser’s stored site data.
6. Contact forms and correspondence
The contact form sends the details entered (name, email address, topic and message) to GloNeuro by email through the server that hosts the Website; these details are not stored on the Website. The newsletter sign-up sends the email address to GloNeuro by email and, where the box confirming consent has been ticked, also records the address, the date and that consent on a subscriber list kept in a protected folder on the server, which cannot be opened from the web. The list is used solely to send occasional GloNeuro updates. An address is removed from the list when the unsubscribe option of the same form is used, or on request by email. To limit misuse, the server keeps a count of recent submissions linked to a one-way coded form of the connection’s IP address, which is deleted within two hours. Where the form service is unavailable, the form opens the user’s own email application instead, and nothing is transmitted until the user sends that message.
Email addresses and correspondence received by GloNeuro are used solely to respond to the enquiry or, where requested, to send occasional updates. GloNeuro does not sell or otherwise disclose this information to third parties.
7. Requests concerning personal information
Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of correspondence they have sent to GloNeuro, or may withdraw from receiving updates at any time, by writing to info@gloneuro.org.
8. Third-party websites
The Website contains links to journals, databases, research tools and other organisations. GloNeuro is not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and users are advised to consult the privacy policy of each website they visit.
9. Changes to this policy
GloNeuro may revise this Policy to reflect changes in the operation of the Website. Any revision will be published on this page, and the date of the latest revision will be amended accordingly.
Effective date: 15 October 2026.
