Accessibility
This statement describes how the Website is made accessible, the limitations that remain and how a barrier may be reported.
Commitment
GloNeuro aims to make the Website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, screen readers, magnification or reduced-motion settings.
Measures in place
- Pages adapt to screen widths down to 390 pixels, the width of a small phone, without horizontal scrolling.
- Animations are slow, pause when out of view, and are replaced by still images when the device is set to reduce motion.
- Interactive elements show a visible outline when reached with the keyboard; the site search opens with the “/” key and its results can be chosen with the arrow keys.
- The atlas viewers can be stepped through with the arrow keys, and the regions of each section are also listed as text.
- The Website follows the device’s light or dark colour preference.
- Portraits of Nobel laureates have text alternatives giving the person’s name.
Known limitations
- Some animated illustrations and the three-dimensional brain atlas are primarily visual; the information they show is described in the surrounding text.
- Pointing at regions in the atlas viewers is easiest with a mouse or touch screen; the region list offers the same names as text.
- The Website has not yet been formally audited against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.
Feedback
Users who meet a barrier on the Website are invited to write to info@gloneuro.org, describing the page and the difficulty, so that it can be corrected.
